Itinerary Days 1 - 3

From arrival in Windhoek to the dunes of Sossusvlei.

DAY 1 | 5 October 2026

Windhoek to Sesriem / Sossusvlei

Collect your vehicle with camping gear at Windhoek International Airport at approximately 10:00.

Depart for Sesriem / Sossusvlei.

Driving distance: approximately 350 - 400 km.

Estimated driving time: approximately 5 - 7 hours.

Buy food supplies in Windhoek and keep the vehicle topped up with fuel before leaving the city.

Overnight: Sossus Oasis Campsite.

Evening: Set up your tent, enjoy the sunset, campfire and braai.

DAY 2 | 6 October 2026

Sossusvlei, Dune 45, Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon

Early morning drive to the first gate of Sossusvlei.

Buy entrance tickets and shuttle tickets if required.

Visit Dune 45, Deadvlei, Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon.

Cool off later at the swimming pool and enjoy another sunset by the campfire.

Overnight: Sossus Oasis Campsite.

DAY 3 | 7 October 2026

Sesriem to Windhoek

Pack up camp early and drive back to Windhoek.

Enjoy a coffee stop along the way.

Overnight: Urban Camp Windhoek in your own tent.

Practical note: Sossus Oasis Campsite is camping. Bring your own food and enjoy the self-drive freedom of the Namib Desert.

Itinerary Days 4 - 7

From Etosha's waterholes to the final day in Windhoek.

DAY 4 | 8 October 2026

Windhoek to Etosha Trading Post Campsite

Pack up camp early and drive north via Okahandja and Otjiwarongo to Etosha Trading Post Campsite.

Set up your tent, unwind and enjoy the sunset by the campfire.

Overnight: Etosha Trading Post Campsite.

DAY 5 | 9 October 2026

Etosha National Park

Visit Etosha National Park.

Drive slowly to various waterholes and enjoy the wildlife, salt pans and open landscape.

End the day with a relaxed braai and campfire.

Overnight: Etosha Trading Post Campsite.

DAY 6 | 10 October 2026

Etosha / Otjiwarongo / Okaputa / Windhoek

Pack up camp early and drive through Otjiwarongo.

Turn left to Okaputa, about 50 km from Otjiwarongo on the road toward Tsumeb.

Spend about 1 hour at the small station and 2 houses.

Drive back to Windhoek.

Overnight: Urban Camp Windhoek in your own tent.

DAY 7 | 11 October 2026

Windhoek / Departure

Take it easy.

Explore the area if time allows.

Return the vehicle with camping gear at Windhoek International Airport.

Practical note: Etosha Trading Post Campsite is camping. Wildlife viewing and waterholes make this part of the tour especially memorable.
